Kenneth Dupin, inventor of the MEDcottage

Kenneth Dupin, inventor of the MEDcottage, is seen in Salem, VA on Monday, June 7, 2010. Dupin came up with the idea for the temporary medical trailer about four years ago after being inspired by witnessing the reverence with which the elderly are treated in other countries. “Families should be managing people’s care, not institutions,” Dupin says. He explains that he wanted to provide an option for families that may not have room or suitable existing structures which would allow them to keep their loved ones nearby but also provide them independence.
